Electoral Roll question with a slight twist

I've done a lot of reading on the subject but can't quite find the answer to my specific question.
My credit file shows me as registered from 2004 to 2012. Then I have for some reason been taken off the register. I applied and got put on the list on September 2nd.
Problem i have is i hopefully will have an offer accepted on a house soon so my file probably wont be updated before i apply for a mortgage.
My question is does the previous 8 years on the register count for anything? And is there anything i can do when applying to show that i am on the register despite my credit file saying otherwise?
Thanks in advance. Long time reader first time poster.

Are you missing from the electoral roll on all three versions of your credit file?I am a mortgage broker. If you are visible on all three until 2012, you should be ok.
You may be asked for evidence of address if they can't do an electronic residence check.I am a mortgage broker. Ok thanks for your help. So you don't think they'd flat out reject me for this alone? I've a perfect credit history aside from this

A decline for that alone is very unlikely.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. You must have failed to return the elctoral roll form last year. Maybe lost on its way to you - or way back to them?
If your now on - you can get a letter confirming this from your local office. Theres a fee of around £9.
This could then be copied and sent on as required.
As stated though - companies know they arn't 100% up to date all the time - and the previous long stay at your current address should help.0 -
Cheers guys. As it turns out I put an offer in then spoke to a neighbour who told me the houses had subsidence! So needless to say offer is on hold. Gotta love this house buying malarkey.0
