IVA completed - remortgage needed

I completed my IVA in Nov 2004 and have the completion certificate to prove it, do I need to do anything with my credit file as all or most of the items on it show nil balances but not all, I have a 2 year fixed rate mortgage with SPML at the moment with six months to run after which there will be no redemption penalties, I would then like to remortgage at that time - interest only and preferably fixed - is this possible? I will start the process in October so that hopefully it will be complete when the SPML deal expires, BTW I have not missed any mortgage payments in the 18 months.

Any help please to get the best deal appreciated

Steve

You shouldnt have much problem and may even get prime or near prime rates
I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)
  • sprob,

what loan to value are you considering?

will you need to self-cetify income?

Obviously you must maintain payments until remortgage.

All seems good, as Mr Helpful says you should be able to get a favourable rate.

Fixed is definately available at the moment.

    Good luck,

    Mark.

We deal with sub prime cases all the time I would look at some one like first national, they also do large income stretches. But as the others have said will most likely go on a near prime product.

    LTV 80%

    Almost definitely self cert

I am on Libor + 2% at the mo I think!, and would ideally like interest only and fixed rate, do I need to do anything with my credit file as most of the items on it started in 2001 after divorce and now they are or will be over 6 years old, do they drop out of the file automatically after 6 years or do I need to write individually to the original creditor or direct to the credit reference agencies so that they no longer appear or is it the case that it is 6 years from the completion of the IVA, sorry to be so long winded but I was given no further info by Baker Tilly - only the Completion certificate

Contact a good whole of market broker, i can reccomend London & Country.
See what they can do for you before you go straight down the sub prime route.
