Fake Tesco page on Facebook...

Just had to warn a friend who had shared a link from another friend.
It goes to a fake Tesco page ( I've reported it to Facebook) and it's the typical "We have 200 Kindle Fire's which have slight package damage therefore they cannot be sold. So we are giving them away absolutely free!"
Share the photo and a link to go to- a .biz address.

These fake pages all have full stops after name,
Argos.
American Airlines.
Real pages for companies don't have full stops! Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
This one was so obvious- the only thing posted on it was the scam offer- though they'd used the current Tesco page picture to lend it credence...
I also left a message on the real Tesco's page.
Yes this fake one had a dot after the name...0 -
Tesco posted earlier today that they were aware of and had reported the fake page.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I just had to tell a friend on FB too! Really tho, i do wonder how daft they must be to share it....the page only has 750 likes and it doesnt even look 'right'.:coffee:0

The friend who shared the link with me is not a comper, and she assumed it was okay because a friend had sent it to her.
She hadn't considered the page could be fake.
It relies on people not being familiar with the 'real' page, so they don't realise it's not.0 -
These scam pages seem to be growing in popularity. I've lost count of the times in the past few months I've seen a FB friend share a photo of "200 iPads that have been unsealed so can't be sold" or "500 laptops that have damaged packaging so we have to give them away"
Surely people must realise, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!? I mean, I know there are great prizes to be had, but don't people think logically - why would they GIVE AWAY so many valuable things just cos the packaging was damaged, surely they'd just reduce the price! I get fed up of seeing these all over my news feed now:mad::mad:0 -
Just had to tell another friend they'd shared a fake tesco/kindles page.
So I've just shared the Tesco warning message among my friends.0
