wedding picture apps

Options
Hi

I've seen lots advertised where your guests take photos and can upload them to your account where everyone can view them. Its all free.....

Whats the catch?! Will we get blasted with lots of adverts, or am I being too cynical?

Has anyone had used any of these apps?

Thanks

  • I've signed up to wedpics and to be honest I haven't had any spam emails or anything (we set up an email agrees only to be used for wedding things). We haven't actually used the app yet as we're not getting married until April 2014 but it all looks good so far, they give you free images to download and print off like place cards to remind you guests to download and use the app.

I really hope our guests use it as I love stuff like this!
  • Just make sure in the T&C's it doesn't say that the company take ownership of any photos uploaded... they can do what they want with them if it does state ownership.
  • Pooh, that's a good point actually Nikkilou. I think I'll have a check in a bit...

So basically it sounds like they can do what they like with them after they have been uploaded. Hmmm not 100% sure about this now tbh
  • I'm pretty sure its the same with instagram, skydrive etc etc, anytime you upload a photo you are basically letting that company use/look at them whenever they choose.

Its useful in certain circumstances where the police need to get involved, but obviously that's a whole other situation and nothing to do with wedding photos!
