FTB with an AP marker!?

Hi,
Me and my fianc!, are looking to buy our first home:
Joint income: £40k
Deposit: £28k (25% deposit)
Property value we are looking for: £115,000
No loans
I have a great credit rating, no missed payments or problems. Just a CC I pay every month in full.
However my partner has got a blip on his credit report, he has 1 AP marked on his credit report from over three years ago.
It read, 2 3 AP. other than that he has successfully had a car loan paid off, CC he pays every month in full. And had no problems since then.
Would we be able to obtain a mortgage with the AP marker??
If we did have a chance, would it be better to go to our bank barclays, or is it best not to go to a high street lender?
Thanks in advance for your help, it's much appreciated.
Thanks

Subject to the details, this should be achievable on the highstreet.
