Tax on pension scheme payoff

in Cutting tax
The OH & myself were in a pension scheme from an old employer (Booker) that was in deficit, that made offers to us to leave the scheme.
We both decided to take the money, & were aware that Gordon had decided he wanted a cut.
My OH is a non taxpayer since having our baby 2 years ago, & needs to claim back the slice Gordon has taken. Unlike a savings account there wasn't an R85 she could fill in.
What's the quickest way she can get it back from him, & any chance it can be done before he moves house, or will it be a long wait?
Thanks in advance.

Speak to your (her) local tax office first. They may refund simply on the basis of a letter and a copy of something from Booker.
BTW - Gordie doesn't deal with all the tax issues, personally - hence you need to contact the Tax Office
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

The form you'll need is an R40 'claim for repayment form'. this will help you list all income for the year and allow your tax office to calculate any repayment. This form can be downloaded from HMRC.gov.uk or from your local enquiry centre.Barclays - Reclaiming - £3380 - stayed 30/08/07 - £2261 goodwill 20/02/09

As we have just started a tax year, I'm hoping she doesn't have to wait until next April to get the cash back?
The only other earnings are interest on savings, but this won't tip her over the tax paying threshold...
Thanks
