Best before end dates and Spatone

I have been going through my medicine box and reluctantly throwing things away that were out of date, including unopened items, was that the right thing to do even with unopened items? I had some flu and cold tablets the other day before seeing the expiry date was 2012 so threw the rest away.

I have lots of Spatone but as I do not have the packaging I don't know what the best before end date is, the individual packets do not have it.

Will it be ok as it is in sealed packets or do I need to throw it away?

If they are in plastic sachets then the plasticiser may leach into the water over time, faster if they have been in a warm bathroom. This is why bottled water gets a date on it. How much do you care about plasticiser?

I noticed a few days ago my olbas oil had a date of 2005 on it... smelling it still seems to do some good so I have kept it.

thanks i think i will get rid of them, that doesn't sound good.
