BT minimum number of calls charge - gone?

Options
I just renewed my line rental saver with BT and checked the bills from last few months. I use Sky Talk Freetime/18185 for my calls and knew that BT were charging me £1.50 pm for not making the minimum number of calls. But BT have not charged me since end of March this year.

Have they removed this charge for not making a minimum call number?

I cannot find any reference to it on their website.

Requirement is still in force as far as calling features concerned.

"A minimum call requirement is associated with inclusive BT Calling Features of 2 calls per month or 6 per quarter, depending on how often you're billed. Calls can be chargeable or those included with your chosen call plan. Calls to the following numbers will not count towards the minimum call requirement: 0800/0808/0500 Freephone numbers; 100/198/155 Operator; 112/998/999 Emergency services; 150 BT Customer Services; 151 BT Fault Reporting; 195 Blind and Disabled Directory Enquiries; 1471/1571. Calls made using BT Broadband Talk and Chargecard are also excluded. A charge of £2.00 per month / £6.00 per quarter applies if you do not make the required number of calls. This charge is compensatory and is not subject to VAT"

That explains it as I dont have any calling features. I think I may have stopped 1571 when I got an answering machine around the time the charge stopped appearing on the bill.
  • The minimum call requirement of 2 calls a month for line rental saver ended a few months ago. The minimum calls required for the free caller display and free 1571 will be ending soon too.

BT customers should watch out for a letter in the next few months about the free caller display and free 1571. All i can say is BT price rises are looming and 1571 and free caller display are on the list.
  • I recently got charged for the caller display. Made zero calls in the 3 months.

Lack of competition. I think broadband is going to get dearer also.
