Freedom of Information

Hello All,

I am hoping to get some advice. I have a mortage with Halifax which I took out in 2010 and got some very bad advice which is only coming to light now. In order to do something about this I need to see my emails that I sent into the bank. I have moved country and job and my emails would have been on my work computer. I have some but not all.

how can I access my records with Halifax. or are my able to.

any help would really be great.

thanks

annsie

They should provide you with a copy of the file for £10

This does not mean your emails are in it.

It's a subject access request you make, under S7 of the Data Protection Act.

You need to make it in writing, requesting all documentation relating to you and enclose a cheque for £10 in respect of their reasonable cost to meet your request.

Pedantic, I know - but this has no relevance to 'Freedom Of Information' which is enshrined in an Act of Parliament and stipulates non personal data that can be disclosed on request from a limited bunch of (largely) public bodies.

Private data is accessed via the strictures of the Data Protection Act.
