Thanks Painkiller, Shortlist win.

I'd like to pass on my thanks to the lovely Painkiller for making it possible to win a Shortlist competition. I won a mans Jorg Gray watch worth over £500 as stated in the comp details. Sorry I can't add the comp link!

However, the winning email stated the watch was worth over £250. I received the watch today and it is lovely, but very different from the picture posted in the competition details. When I looked on their website I now find the watch I received is on sale for £199.
All a bit misleading I thought!
So should I be grateful for the win and say nothing about the discrepancies? or complain?
Advice please.
Sorry to hijack a thank you post!

    Congratulations on your win :T

Personally, I wouldn't complain as you still have a £199 watch out of it and that's not to be sniffed at. I would never pay that much for a watch so I would just accept it graciously :)

  • Well done PL. To answer your question, there were 2 shortlist comps. for Jorg Gray watches. This one which ended on 29/08
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4747814 2 watches worth £250 each and this one which ended on 04/09 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4752468 1 watch worth £500

You can't write to shortlist and ask them which comp. you won your watch from (well I say can't, I wouldn't, up to you entirely). I feel the same as nod off though, you have a watch worth £199 which could be the £250 one reduced in price. I would be very grateful and not worry about the odd 50 quid, unless you wanted to sell it, then it would be different. xxx

    Congrats :D
Also, companies normally go on an inflated RRP for prize values but that is still an expensive watch at £199 :D
