Does anybody have any experience on this with Vanquis Bank?
Is it worth what it costs - £6.00 per month?
How can you get hold of a copy of its Ts & Cs, which I cannot find on its web.site?
Can payments for this over the past 18 months be recovered?
How can you cancel this? - I cannot find out how to do so on the web.site.

Probably not.
Is this it? http://www.vanquis.co.uk/Upload/Misc/cpp%20doc.pdfHaSBeenConsolidated wrote: »How can you get hold of a copy of its Ts & Cs, which I cannot find on its web.site?HaSBeenConsolidated wrote: »Can payments for this over the past 18 months be recovered?
No. What would be the reason for the refund?HaSBeenConsolidated wrote: »How can you cancel this? - I cannot find out how to do so on the web.site.
Phone them up.0 -
ZX81 - Thanks for the link - where did you find it. I've searched the Vanquis web.site from end-to-end, so I thought, but could not find this.
Reason for applying for a refund: Is that I did not know I'd signed up for this and that it really doesn't cover any need that I'd ever wish to insure against. I'd assume this is a 'tick-box' thing that I've inadvertently and unwittingly ticked / failed to tick and finished up with amost unwelcome facility.
Phone them up - at 7p / minute could cost more than keeping on paying. is there any other way of stopping this?
- Or some other number than the 0871 number they appear to insist upon me using?0 -

You can usually find a way round these rip off numbers. Try Googling 'say no to 08700'. Also, most credit cards have a geographical number on the back for those phoning from abroad. Just drop the 44 and add a 0.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

Try looking on SayNo to 0870 or alternatively there is an 0844 number and an address you could try writing to on the link that zx81 posted.0 -
By chance I've just stumbled upon the real answer on-line via Google in the Daily Telegraph on 22nd Aug-13: It appears that most CPP ID Insurances were in fact mis-sold and refunds are due this autumn to around 7 million people.

You would have to be on the phone for 86 minutes before you spent enough on the phone call to wipe-out 1 month's saving. Do you really think it will take nearly and hour and a half to get through to the right person and cancel a monthly payment?HaSBeenConsolidated wrote: »Phone them up - at 7p / minute could cost more than keeping on paying. is there any other way of stopping this?
Anyhow, saynoto0870 gives 01634 816387 or 0800 7816314 as alternativesloose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
I've spoken to the FCA (Finance Conduct Authority) which has advised that Vanquis Bank is not one of the 13 Banks covered by this scheme, which means that to get your Refund & Compensation for Mis-selling this CPP ID Insurance to you - you must start by contacting Vanquis Bank themselves directly.
Should have expected this. So here we go!0
