Help with lyrics from a song-title needed

Sorry if this is in the wrong bit of Martin's forum (as I've always called it) but I don't know where else to ask.


I was part of a little kid's dance performance about 35 years ago and the song had the words "he grabbed the urchin by the scruff of his neck pointing out", there ........


And that is all I can remember - and it's been bugging me for years as to what the song is!

It was a man singing and it must have been a late 60s early 70s song.

Any help would be appreciated so I can listen to it again after all these years.

How strange I've listened to thousands of songs over the years and have never come across it-and within minutes of asking there it is!

Google is a wonderful tool if you don't know the song put a phrase from the song into google's search and it will often recognise the song x

"the scruff of his neck pointing out" was enough to bring it up on Google for me, so always worth just putting a smaller phase in to the search in case you have a few of the lyrics wrong x

I find it invaluable for when I here a snatch of a song I like but dion't know who/what it is:)
