Definitely worth it. May give you bargaining power if you turn out to need it or encourage them to sell it on where interest and charges are more likely to be stopped.

Yes. And if it's JD Williams group, you might even get them to agree that it's unenforceable and so of a lower priority than your other debts. There's no downside to it, it costs £1. Do it.
  • Can i ask what a CCA is please?
  • Which catalogues?

Shop direct group will likely send you a copy of a current one with no name and address and say you would have signed one like it now cough up. Its junk...

Refused to admit it was unenforceable, but who cares as it is.

    Good luck

    Hi,
My shop direct account was passed to there inhouse debt collectors, NDR recovery, who after a good year of adding on charges, sold it to Lowells, I sent a CCA request to lowells for this account, I got a response saying, we are looking into this etc, then a few weeks later got a letter back saying "we are prepared to take a commercial view in regard to this account and have decided to write off the balance and close the account" apparently the correct paperwork could not be found for the account, neither was the correct paperwork for the sale of the debt to Lowells completed properly either, so its always worth sending for as these companies don't always follow the rules where the sale of these accounts are concerned.

Is the account still with the catalogue company ? I`d do it now and see what comes back before you enter a DMP !

  • Do it now.

    Are they adding charges still?

If so, sooner they know you ain't paying without a CCA they will sell it on and unlikely any more charges added. So you can pay it then if you like.
