What are quick cook oats?

Have recently seen quick cook oats mentioned in a couple of recipes and wondered what they were. I have porridge oats in though as these were also mentioned in the recipe have eliminated these. I can only think it means something like ready brek, am I on the right track? Many thanks.
I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

  • Quick cook oats is just rolled oats (porridge), which is processed more finely, has a finer texture and thus cooks quicker, the taste is just the same.
  • They are just finer porridge oats I sometimes just smash up some porridge oats a bit more either with a processor or the mortar and pestle. and I have even not bothered as sometimes using value oats you get varying sizes anyway

Ready Brek would be close enough.

If you have porridge oats then I'd put them through a blender to make them a finer texture.
