    Also the ATP marker can then follow for the rest of the duration of the loan (although you can argue this). Which means if the last payment is in 3 years then ATP markers will follow up to that point and be visible 6 years after that.

    I am definitely not going to take the payment holiday. Gonna use a credit card despite not wanting to do this!! I have thought about it long and hard today and even though it will set me back with my debt free journey, I should be able to clear the £700 in a few months without it affecting my debt free plan too much.

    The detrimental effect to my credit is just too much to risk.

    For what little I know and what little it may be worth I think you made the right decision.
