why has my back button stopped working?

My normal method is to work through the pages, enter each comp I'm interested in then go back to the page I was on again.
Only my back button has completely ceased to function, but only on here. (MSE generally.)

Mine still goes back but only to the top of the page I was on - not where I was on the page - annoying cos I have to scroll down every time and keep refreshing to see where I'm at...:smileyhea Thank you to all that post comps - may the Comping Fairy return your time and generosity doubled!:smileyheaLaughing at our own mistakes can lengthen our own life. No, that's not doing it either. All the other site's I've been on are fine, it's just this one. Might try a new tab to see if I've accidentally done something weird.
