Loans for bad credit

Feeling really desperate here 😞

Are there any ok ones out there? Any that are likely to accept us with a poor credit rating?

I would be so grateful if anyone could recommend. I know we will pay high APR but so be it, that's the price we will pay for ruining our credit rating!!

Thanks in advance 👍

You have to give at least a little bit of info if you expect an answer.
Do you need 200 or 20,000,000?

If you have a record of not bothering to repay previous debts, are you really expecting another lender to ignore all that?
  • Charming response! Looking to borrow £7k for home improvements to make life easier and more enjoyable for my disabled son and the rest of our children.

I'm not expecting just anyone to lend us the money, I appreciate we have messed up our chances to lend from the bank and other good lenders. Yes we messed things up a few years back and even though we both now work and have no debts whatsoever we are paying the price, rightly so! Just wondered if there are any lenders out there that may help us?

If you have no debt, why haven't you been saving?

If you have no debt, you will never have so much spare cash to manage properly, are you sure you can repay a loan?

Is unlikely anyone will be throwing seven thousand pounds at you but you still haven't given anywhere near enough info
  • What info do you want? Are you a lender?!!! We can absolutely afford to pay a loan. We could save and that is what we will do if we can't get a loan but as I said the work on the house is pretty urgent. If it has to wait then it will have to wait.

As I said in the other thread, we have been saving over the last few months, the money has been spent on some of the jobs on our list and car repairs.

Ok re your poor credit rating are you refering to the figure given by experian and the others ? If so then forget the number on the screen.
  • Yes I've looked at the experian site but we've also been refused for a couple of loans we've already applied for. It's pretty bad

If you have already applied for a couple of loans and been refused that in itself could have an impact on any future applications you make within the next 6 months say. Id stop applying, leave it for 6 months to a year whilst you save up.
  • What makes your credit "bad"? And when was the last negative footprint? Stop applying for loans Willy nilly as that will make things even worse.

Best advice I can give is, if you can afford to repay and have a decent income, go see your own bank (in person) as they can see how you handle your finances, so you may have a better chance of them agreeing to lend you some cash. If they refuse however, I wouldn't think you have any chance anywhere else.
  • PS have you looked to see if any grants are available for home improvements that are for your disabled son?
  • Do you own the property or rent?

If it is for disability needs are there any local authority grants available for some of the work?

If renting take care - get permission from your landlord first before doing anything.

You will find it easier to find a secured loan ie mortgage - if you own the property go and see a mortgage broker rather than apply willy nilly.
