Dan Dan noodles with quorn mince

Hello! We are having some vegetarians to stay and I was thinking of making Dan Dan noodles but with quorn mince instead of pork. Do you think it will work? All the recipes I have seen on the internet suggest using tofu, but I can't bear tofu!

Definitely, go for it. Quorn mince is good, so long as your veggie friends don't have an intolerance to it. If you know that they eat Quorn, I can see no problem whatsoever. Am sure they will love it, it sounds lovely. You've put me in the notion of making that for dinner.0

quorn mince is nice. make sure it is defrosted before putting it in the pan (although it is not a disaster if you don't). quorn does have egg in it so double check on allergy front as per anne marie.
we've also used supermarket own brand veggie mince too which is good too, and may be a bit cheaper.0 -

Me too, and it's absolutely fine and cheaper.
Been a while since I've been in the UK, but from memory, the frozen Quorn mince was cheaper than the stuff from the chiller cabinet, but check for offers.0 -
Thanks all! I have ordered the quorn now and can't change it but am worried about the egg as I only eat free range. Do you know if the egg is free range? I bet its not!0

The Quorn recipe was changed to free-range eggs to receive the vegetarian Society Seal of Approval. For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.
