Ok a little off topic, bit different maybe and off track maybe but a subject worth visiting in view of how much money saved over the years and time invested by my IFA..

Say "thanks" and refer your mates to him when they need help.0
-
Don't you pay him for his services?0

As opinions4u says, refer your friends.
Write him a thank you letter, and copy it to his head office (if he's not a one-man band). Don't be surprised if the head office copy ends up with the complaints department because nobody else can work out what to do with it...0 -
Referrals are always welcome.
For a personal thankyou, definitely a letter copied to his bosses & perhaps (if you discuss such levities) a bottle of something? If he's in a firm, there may be a 'gifts over £25' issue (include the receipt in an envelope), but you can still get a really lovely whiskey?
Says she with a professional pal now known as David of Jura...0 -

Promise not to hit him with a spurious mis-selling claim in the future.0

If he has an office, a thank your card is always good - it can go in the office and potential new clients will see it.
Ive had a crate of beer before now - that went down quite well.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. if he has an office and other staff a tin of Celebrations (other brands of chocolates are available) is a nice way to thank them all,
if he is a one man band ,same thing but for his him and family (presuming he is a family man)
if none of the above , and you know he likes a drink , wine , whiskey, or beer is always gratefully received
my broker has been fantastic , we are not quite there yet but regardless of what happens we intend to buy her a "spa day" for a local spa that I know she visits because it was them who recommended her, and the staff at the spa will get a tin of chocs to pass round if/when we get the keys0 -

Nothing better than referrals!
Although a nice card to go in the office and a bottle of prosecco are always welcome!
