I knew nowt about any of this so he came to my property and said I was to either pay the full amount or set up a payment plan which is what I did. I was charged an a sum of £250 which they demanded I pay before 3pm that day just to start this plan which I believed was going to come off my bill but it didn't. Anyway he made a list of my goods and I had to sign it.
O dear you have well and truly done over the maximum bailiff fees due on the day of the levy total £55.50 bailiffs are allowed to deduct their fees first therefore £195 should have gone to the council
can you please tell me the goods levied outstanding balance owed to council and the fees charged that's on the notice of seizure please
Correct me if I am wrong, but if they have made you pay a fee larger than is allowed by law, are you not entitled to complain and get this refunded ? to my mind that's demanding money with menaces, which I think you can still go to prison for in this country, I would be tempted to get some legal advise on this as I think you have been badly let down by the system here, did the remainder of the money go to the council ? how are you supposed to keep track of whats owed when you have people knocking on your door demanding money ? I would complain in writing to the bailiffs, and also send a copy to the council, these people operate on the basis that you don't have a good enough knowledge of the law, does anyone else think this is right ? or is it me ?.
