Spend on credit card today: £91.00 Diesel.
This should last us all month depending on how many miles I need to travel for my new job (this will be more than covered by car mileage though)0 -
Lol happier me I have been snooping on amazon and think I'll order that lego friends trailer for my niece too! Looks like just the kind of thing she'd enjoy so thanks for the inspiration! Might get the other two younger nieces some duplo tubs as I haven't seen them with any just yet... tick tick tick (that's me ticking things off my xmas list lol) :jMFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

LOL about how you found Lego Freinds offer Happier Me, my daughter will love it when she unwraps it on Christmas Day. I will always be on the look out for any Lego Friends offers from now on...Smyths the toy shop has 20 % of all toys at the moment including Lego and I have been wondering about buying LF key ring torch but I'm not sure as it has LED bulb and uses super expensive batteries.... I know my DD would love it though! I trying to hang back on pressies and stay super simple as I know they don't need tons to have a happy Christmas.
Managed to spend about £55 in Waitrose yesterday so that will leave £5 for extras this week and £10 will go into over payment jar. About the organic thing, we manage it small because we're vegetarian and eat a lot of lentils/beans etc which are cheap and everything including bread/cakes etc are cooked from scratch. I find breakfast cereal most expensive thing from dried goods.0 -
A few MSE things we've done so far this week:
1. I've had 2 work related NSD's so far and so has DH.
2. I have spent all of £2 on my credit card (fresh bread - food challenge in my sig updated).
3. DH has put some curtains up between the playroom and the conservatory to reduce heat loss. This doesn't look anywhere near as bad as I expected it would.
4. I have not had any of the red stuff since Friday night :T
Not much to report if I'm honest. Mortgage payment comes out tomorrow and I'm very excited to be updating my mortgage balance for the first time since starting a diary.:D0 -
Just picked up my kids from after school and it appears I've been met with a few unexpected costs.
- DD is going to Cadbury's World (I never did anything like that at school!): Cost £16
- We now have two school disco's in the diary: Cost £7
- DS, who is 5, has lost his first tooth today (bless!). When I say he has lost it, he has literally lost it (or most likely eaten it with his burger). His DD has written a note to the tooth fairy on his behalf explaining the circumstances around the missing tooth and requesting that the £1 still be paid. So the tooth fairy has got to find a pound tonight.:D

Aww bless him. I'm glad you posted about the Tooth Fairy, as DS1 is also 5 years old and has not lost any teeth yet. I was wondering what the 'going rate' was from the Tooth Fairy and £1.00 seems a good amount. It used to be 10p a tooth when I was a child :rotfl:.

The tooth fairy in this house will be leaving a nice new toothbrush / tube of toothpaste the first time...
And, of course, a shiny £1 coin lol :rotfl:MFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

Ooh, toothbrush and toothpaste, now that's a good idea, KolaKube:D
I have made my first mortgage payment and OP since starting this diary and my signature has been updated so I am very excited today. OP this month is £578 as I haven't yet started my new secondment - this should increase to £1078 from next month and last for a period of 12 months as long as I am an:A.
Interest on the main mortgage has also reduced significantly since July, from £126 per month to £87:D. We managed to take £10k off the mortgage in August (which will not be happening again) by overpaying the money from a car sale and income from our solar panels.0 -
It's payday for me today, DH on the 30th.
We will have another mortgage payment sitting in the bank by Monday as we pay our mortgage at the end of the month. When we set up our offset we tried to push as many payments to the end of the month as posible to boost our current acount balance for offset. This included the mortgage payment although I don't think this makes a any difference.
So we sort of owe less than £80k now:j
Had 3 NSD's so far this week - 4 by the end of the day as I am working from home. Spent just 40p on my spend day at work on drinks. DH is on track to clocking up 5 NSD's this week also.
Have loked into my utilities this week and decided it's not worth transferring. Will revisit again next year. I'm also going to look into paying my council tax by credit card so I can benefit from the cashback:D0 -
I think my MSE ways of rubbing of on DS. At swimming on Saturday he checked every locker for coins whilst waiting for his DD to get ready and was really pleased when he found 4p
. I wonder if he will do the same tomorrow.
