Hi, has anybody used the agency Pertemps recently?
If so, is it just a case of walking into their office with your CV and asking to register or do you need to make an appointment with them?
Thanks

It's always best to ring them up and make an appointment. Dependent upon the work you are looking for they might need you to do some skill tests. They can also then tell you what ID you need to take with you etc. Be prepared as it can take some time to go through it all.0

In my experience, avoid them like the plague - there are better agencies out there.0

Agree with you, ripped me off once over owed holiday pay. Complained to the MD and then they binned me for life:eek:
PS - Would like to know who some of those better agencies are in your book as in my experience I never came across any, particularly the usual run of the mill High Street ones.0 -
I worked for them for a while as a Branch Manager, let me assure you that they are the last agency I would approach if I was looking for work, worst job I ever had, definately an applicant driven agency, you work firmly on the side of the employing company....January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -
I would have to concur with the others re Pertemps.
As a candidate, they were dreadful at getting back to me about jobs / opportunities and as an employer, I had many a temp moaning about the fact they hadn't been paid.
I recently used an agency called Premiere People which I believe is country wide - might be worth a look. Also dependent upon the type of work, Office Angels is great as are many smaller independent outfits.0 -

I would have to disagree with Office Angels. In my days of job searching I knew for a fact that they advertised Fake jobs just so they could get in 100's of CV's for their marketing purposes.I know that because the recruitment consultant told me so when I once applied for a role with them.0 -

I agree--my previous employer (a large conglomerate) specifically banned the entire HR department from using Office Angels due to multiple instances of fraud. We never knew the exact reasons or what the alleged fraud was, but they were the only agency on our "DO NOT USE EVER LIST."
On the other side of the coin, I used Huntress Group myself to look (and get jobs) and to recruit. I can't recommend them highly enough. At least with the consultant I was dealing with for quite the while.0 -
We use pertemps for class 2 drivers and have mixed results. That said we have taken a few on full time.Bedroom Tax / Spare room subsidy / Housing Benefit Reduction - It's the same thing, get over it.0
