If first time buyers are thin on the ground, wont they be replaced by older people who are downsizing by selling houses that have doubled in price? Then any spare cash probably goes to their chidren who'll use it as a deposit on their first home. At this rate a housing crash wont ever happen!0

Agree that £400 rent or £1000 mortage does not need too much consideration.
If I were a homeowner I would seriously consider downsizing and living mortage free and then never worry about house prices again.0
