Why? What were your circumstances?
It does make me laugh, that I am the ONLY one in the whole thread who seems to have spotted this is a pre bankruptcy debt, so given op a good line to follow and you want to pick holes.
So be it.
We had a problem where the company involved dragged it's feet for over a year, couldn't do anything, wouldn't do anything, no final response.
We phoned the FOS, who do give advice over the phone. You then fill out the details online, they make initial contact with the company and you. They say they will contact the company and ask for a response for their investigation. In our case, the company were in the wrong and did just "roll over". Without the FOS having to investigate further. The thing that they couldn't possibly look into or sort for over a year.
My circumstances are nothing to do with it. It's in my post history.
The fact is here, op seems to have been made to pay a debt which should've and sounds like it was included in a bankruptcy. Therefore she can indeed seek advice from the FOS helpline as to her next steps.0
