Windows 7 Updates

Anyone else getting a huge number of Windows 7 updates at present?

Does this mean Microsoft has made a huge blunder, or found a great number of security vulnerabilities, or am I just paranoid? :D

They release updates on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

This month I think there were 13 separate updates, so yes, you will see a lot.

A bit like our local poultry market then, but hopefully not as disorganised.... ;)

Thanks. I must've had most of them by now, and they did start on Tuesday. :)
  • There's a problem with this month's updates - it keeps offering the same 3 updates (KB2760411 - KB2760588 - KB2760583) even though they've been installed. In this MS bulletin it says:

"You may be repeatedly offered this update even though it is already installed. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available."
  • There are three updates to Microsoft Office which appear to install OK, but then try to install themselves again, and again, and again... in an infinite loop.

For info, Microsoft say they have fixed the problem with the recurring updates:

I installed them originally (probably 3 times before I twigged!) and I notice that the reminder telling me that I need to install them again has quietly disappeared.

All seems to be well here now, though it was still updating yesterday at every switch-off. Thanks everyone.
