    Hi
Have you checked with the bus company to see if they do term time bus passes (they do in the West Midlands). I know it would be a big chunk of money upfront but could save in the long run.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Do you drive fuel efficiently for the miles you have to do? Do you fill up at the cheapest places.

As suggested do measure how many miles you are doing and calculate your mpg.

Worth a read through this checklist for ideas on making small reductions to your usage/costs.

I'm only doing about 60 miles a week though.

Then I would get your car checked out - that's ridiculously low fuel economy for such a small engine.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I reset my milometer yesterday and I've done 32 miles already! I did go for lunch today but maybe I'm doing more miles than I thought.
  • DO the college/bus company offer a student rate or term time bus pass or any scheme like that?
Do the college have any funds to help pupils to travel in (yes I know it's embarassing to have to ask for help but if needs must).
Could you meet your sisters every fortnight instead to save costs? maybe more phonecalls /skype in between?

  • Are you tyres inflated to the manufacturer's standard? Low tyres can reduce fuel efficiency.
