Instead of buying a recipe book stand, try this....

Ok, it doesn't look as good but it will save you money and you can just put it back in the wardrobe when you don't need it in the kitchen!

I have just tested it using a childs skirt hanger and it worked fine.

It was the type that you just squeeze the clips to insert the skirt, the one above won't be as good as you have to slide the clips on those.

    I like the idea, but a lot of my recipe books are too fat and too heavy. Would work well for magazines though.

    On a similarish vein, I read a version simple but genius trick for those that use tablet type devices to read recipes off - stick it in a sandwich bag to keep it safe from splatters, showers of flour and so on. Apparently it won't interfere with the touch-screen function either.

    My kitchen doesn't have any wall cupboards. I think it's because the walls are like cream cheese and they'd end up falling off and killing someone! Good idea though, but probably only for lightweight books.
