Two Lloyds Overdrafts - Combine?
aoused
Hello,
Without going into all of my debt issues (around £20k of them), I have had my LBM and am working hard to figure out how to deal with this. Essentially without any overtime payments, I can only afford my bills, leaving me with nothing to feed myself or fuel the car. Luckily I can make a few quid of overtime each month for now... I need to manage like this until May when one of my loans finishes giving me an extra £130 to play with.
My priority debts are £1500 on a credit card (29.5% This was originally a student 17% card that they hiked without me even notcing - doh! Will try reading the paperwork they send me in future) and two Lloyds overdrafts of £960 and £1800 (17%). Once these are clear, I will only have to pay off my other four loans (two Lloyds 10%, credit union 10% and dad 2%).
I have two Lloyds Classic accounts (I was paying for an account but got rid of that). I have all my direct debits and bills come out of one which is stocked each month with a fixed standing order from the other account which I am paid into. I did this because I like to ensure I have enough money for all my bills each month. Anything else I need to spend comes from the other account. Both are overdrawn as aforementioned. In addition to the interest, I get charged an overdraft usage fee of £6 on each account.
Basically I only want to pay one overdraft usage fee. I went into a Lloyds branch but essentially they viewed my 'internal rating' which isn't good (gone over agreed limit a few times, had a refused DD recently) and they couldn't help me.
Is there any way I can get Lloyds to shift all of the debt into one account (a nicely worded letter to someone or something)? I don't really want to work on paying either off and would prefer to throw extra cash at the more expensive credit card first.
Cheers!

You could write, but if you say you are struggling to meet your commitments they may just call in both ODs.
I would open an account with an unlinked branch, just in case.:beer:0 -
Can I open a bank account with poor credit?0

At least a basic one yes. Maybe even a regular one too but without an OD.
The Barclays basic one can be opened by bankrupts I think.:beer:0
