A salutary lesson in why you shouldn't speed.

Some people speed in between traffic lights in the city but they never get much distance because everyone catches them up at the next lights.
Considering that the motorway is probably a fraction of the trip in time (most would be pent in the smaller residential roads at home and at the destination) Iddon't think speeding at 85mph on the motorway will save you 20 minutes. More like 4 minutes at average commuter distance
you appear to be reading into it far too much.
and i reckon i can save a load of time between speed traps. Not all of us live in areas where you can only drive 100 yards down the motorway before you hit an average speed, camera0 -

About the same amount of time that someone doing 70 saves over someone doing 60 (or 60 instead of 52, or 52 instead of 46, etc.).0 -

Not sure if London Tiger has ever ventured beyond the M25.
But to answer his question about an hour between London and Glasgow. Or two hours if you keep the ton up.0 -
Or five hours saving if the 45 minutes you save between London and Birmingham mean you get past Birmingham before 2:30PM.But to answer his question about an hour between London and Glasgow. Or two hours if you keep the ton up.
Don't forget to factor in tiredness due to extended driving hours on long trips. Especially if you're a company car driver, not subject to mandatory breaks so easily exploited by your employer.0 -
Possibly, or maybe he knew someone who was killed by a speeding motorist.
Possibly, though still no need to be agressive to a stranger on an internet forum over a joke? There are worse things to be offended over.
Personally, I didn't find the joke offensive. But then I also didn't find it very funny.
Me neither. Mild amusing in that i've watched people bomb past me in the mornings just to get to work earlier. Seems silly.0 -

why on earth would anybody want to go to Birmingham.....?
I meant on the London -> Glasgow trip.
Get past Birmingham before 2:30 save a load of time.
Get stuck in the early part of the Birmingham rush, lose an hour, end up in the Liverpool/Manchester/Cheshire rush at M6 J16->20 lose a few more hours.0
