Why bother paying debt??

Maybe I am naive, but who does the money people borrow come from?
Perhaps sometimes it is the rich and greedy, but a good proportion of it I think it comes from thrifty people saving up for their future, or retired people who want to enjoy their old age and don't want to be a burden on taxpayers.
These are the people whose money is stolen when debtors skip away and ignore their debts - just like all of us who suffer from high interest rates on credit cards and high insurance premiums - which are inflated by money pilfered from us by thieves and fraudsters.0 -
If you give a Labrador a bowl of food it will eat it, if you then immidiately give the dog another bowl of food it will eat it again. Take that dog out for a walk and it will likely be sick.
Who's fault was that with the dog being sick. The dog for eating 2 bowls of food or the owner for giving the dog the food?
I see this as the same with bankers, money and people. If the bankers realise they are giving the people more money than they can afford then they only have themselves to blame when people default on it.
If peoples debts get so out of control that they just have to give up and hide from the debt and end up getting away with it, then I say good on them. The banks are ruthless in their pursuit of profit and also in their pursuit of debt. I say stuff the greedy gits.0
