It's oh so quiet.........

And has been for a while now

Does anyone else think so? I used to feel like I could never read all the posts I wanted to because there were so many and now it seems like not as many people are posting here anymore which is a shame.

Ive only been posting for a few months as well, not like it's been a steady decline IMO.

WHERE HAS EVERYONE GONE??????????

I think that too, I really look forward to coming on this forum every day (kind of therapy for me), it helps me keep on track and I know when I feel low I just have to post and everybody is sooooo nice. OH not too impressed though, he keeps coming in and saying 'you are not on that site again, is this your new addiction?'

hahaha thats really made me laugh cos my OH is forever saying, "are you on that website again? what are you doing on it"? He's not really into computers (would rather be slumped in front of the telly!) so doesn't get it.

At least this addictions free, unlike the shopping addiction that I've now had to give up!

Do you get panic attacks when you go near the shops, I know I do, especially when I go grocery shopping as I would normally put what I liked in the trolly and pay by card. Now I go with a list and if it isn't on the list I don't get it until the next weeks shop, OH and DD have learned if they want something it must go on the list. I still worry that when I get to the check out I wont have enough cash on me, managed to really cut down my bills by shopping for cleaning and some items in 99p stores, Lidl for other items and then Sainsburys for what I cant get elsewhere.

Saw a really sad thing today when I was in ASDA, the lady in the queue in front of me bought loads of reduced carrots (about 15 bags) the total came to £4.25 and she pulled out a money bag (little plastic ones you put your coins in) and there were about 20 different credit cards in it and she was rooting for the one she could put £4.25 on. My heart broke when I saw that because I could see me there if I hadn't went BR when I did.

Arr thats so sad. I could just cry for someone like that, it would stay with me for a few weeks and I'd keep thinking about it. I don't know why, it's not like you can walk up to a stranger in a supermarket and say anything to help them but it would just do my head in for weeks thinking if only I could help her

Stupid thing is it's took this long for me to help myself!

Yeah I do the list thing now if it's not on the list it dont go in the trolley. Im quite good now though, I buy 1 shop a month online from tescos and get all their own brand loo rolls, cleaning stuff, frozen veg/chips for the freezer and tins etc, then I just try and keep a small amount of cash to shop once a week for bread/milk/sandwich meats etc, but still keep to a strict list! I used to spend probably £100 a week for two of us, now only I live here and probably spend that a month.

So looks like it's just me and you tonight then?!

Looks that way. I used to shop on line but stopped because it was costing me too much, you should really try the 99p stores for cleaning stuff and the like much cheaper than Tesco own brand. I get my washing powder from there, does just a good a job as own brand and at only 99p a great saving, also they are great for shampoos and bubble bath (you have to have some treat), brand names but imported in from abroad. My 7 year old now says mommy you cant get that it isn't on the list and this even for something for her. She is too young to know what has happened, so I have explained it that we are now doing things this way as we want to save for her education when she is older and she understands this.

bless, sometimes kids are so much more understanding than people give them credit for, if you just sit them down and tell them honestly instead of just saying no you cant have this or that, even at a young age.

I use the tesco lavender washing tablets, they re £2.88 for 24 washes (48 tablets) but unless Im washing sheets or towels I only use 1 tablet (something I picked up on from here) and the washing come out just as clean!. Might try those stores for toiletries etc im going to try and stop buying cleaning stuff and make my own using vinegar and essential oil, but this is from more of a health point of view (because of all the chemicals). and other cleaning things (need to read thrifty ways for modern days again!)

I usually spend 40-50 a months on stuff from tesco to last all month, and 10-20 a week on fresh groceries.

sorry it's taken me so long to post, ive been drooling over Gordon on channel 4!

Please tell me you mean Gordon Ramsey and NOT Gordon Brown!!!:rotfl:
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
