NHS root canal treatment for a child

Thanks Toothsmith - we've been told it can be done by a private endodontist within a week, but brook2jack suggested being referred to an NHS dental hospital - presumably there would be a long wait for that? Obviously in an ideal world we'd get it done straight away - but is it putting his tooth at risk by waiting for the NHS specialist?

Your own dentist will know how long waiting list is locally for a pee dough dontist (ridiculous can't spell it out) and what the problems might be if it is substantial.

We are in the London area and one of my grandsons needed treatment by a specialist, his dentist referred him to Chelsea and Wesminster..the consultant he's been seeing is excellent and his treatment is still ongoing as she wants to follow through with some further treatment as its his front teeth that are affected.. I can't speak more highly of her care and treatment.. I am not sure of the referral procedure or if your child could be seen here but its worth asking your dentist.. here is the link to the dept , good luck

As a guide, in my area the waiting list for an endodontist here is about 2 years at the dental hospital
