Trading up for East Lothian Foodbank
Options
I thought I would let you know what my 9 year Grandson is doing to help the foodbank. He started with a red paperclip and the idea is that someone exchanges it and trades up. Currently there are 2x2 vouchers for Pizza Express in Edinburgh. So if you can think of something that you do not need that is worth more than this you trade up. On Christmas Eve he will auction what he is left with and the money will be used to buy food for the foodbank.
He has a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Eamonnstradingproject and a Twitter page @etradingproject
Even if you cannot trade anything please give him some encouragement by liking his pages. This week he has been on the radio and will also be giving a newspaper interview. I am so proud of him.

Sounds like a grand idea but I don't use Facebook. Is there anywhere else I can read about his progress. How does one donate? Mags0

He is also trying to get them to set up a just giving account so people can also donate. I will post what paper he has been in this week and it has also been agreed that after Christmas he will go back on East Coast radio to update them.
The only way in real time to see what is available for trading though is through Facebook or Twitter.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -
If you want to donate food here is what the Charity has just posted....
Would you like to donate food to East Lothian foodbank?
At the moment, we particularly need tinned meat, fish and vegetables (not tomatoes please as we have a good supply of them at the moment) small bags of sugar, long-life fruit juice and custard but obviously other non-perishable goods are welcome too.
We have collection boxes in Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Tranent and Dunbar Libraries, Brunton Hall in Musselburgh and Ormiston Community Centre. There are boxes in many churches throughout East Lothian too. Hopefully we will be able to tell you opening times for our tranent base soon.
You can also take donations to our good friends at Roots and Fruits
between 10am-1pm and Monday to Thursday and 10-12pm on Friday. EL Foodabnk would struggle to manage keep going without their van for help.
You can donate a single can or a big bag full, every item matters. Thanks you for your supportSelf Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
