Proof of residency

Leeds BS has asked me for proof of residency at my address back until 2010. I have the last 2 CTax bills by luck as I normally shred them and most of my bills are online.

Can anyone offer any advice as to what I can use? I have my tenancy agreements but these are not acceptable and having checked the electoral roll on credit expert and I am registered but my name is not listed? Which is strange as I have voted whilst living at these addresses.

Call your bank and ask them to send out historic bank statements, most banks can do this.

Leeds will be super picky about the documents from experience, bank statements are usually the easiest..

Cheers I will try this but waiting for TSB to send them now. Looks like I will need to drive the 30 miles to get them from branch!

I shred everything and bills from 3 years ago? I am surprised anyone could provide these as why keep them as I pay DD per month?

It is a source of much frustration with this specific lender for that reason, although they will not buckle on their request.

Some lenders will need to send out the statements, rather than produce in branch so would double check before the trip

    Nice idea Dave.

The last one I had that wanted historical proof of address happened also to be Leeds B S and the client's Bank (Barclays) came up trumps.

Following on from the suggestion about bank statements, weren't the annual tax statements usually issued on paper irrespective of whether the monthly etc statements were online? OP might have these from 2010 at the right address?

The OG is a bill shreader.

Bill Shredder should give all his work to Bill Scanner first.

Indeed scanning everything now. Seems daft but I get very little by post with all my utilities are online. Lesson learnt.

I have ordered a months statements from the bank for December 2010 to Febuary 2011 and hoping that will be enough....£5 a sheet!

Have a moan up at the bank, they very rarely enforce these costs when dealing with you in person.

    Good luck

    £5 a sheet is outrageous.

You can threaten them with having to provide your entire file for £10
