Update from the following thread, but I have introduced the background in this thread.

Backgroud:
I received a letter two weeks ago from a debt collection agency called LCS saying that I’m responsible for a bill payment (£1300) at my previous address. The bill comes from EDF Energy and the period of the bill starts from 2007 to 2011.
However, I only stayed in that address for 2 months and I never have an account with EDF Energy. Then I sent the copy of my tenancy agreement to LCS to prove my stay.
There are four updates:
1. I received an e-mail from LCS last week, saying EDF has modified my account, and the amount of the bill has been reduced to £98.
2. Four days later, I received a letter from LCS. But the amount of the bill has not been reduced (£1300).
3. Today I got the copy of my credit file. Everything is fine.
4. I have contacted with EDF customer service, they confirmed that they do not have an account with my name and my date of birth.
God know what LCS were doing (they told me that EDF has modified my account).
Can any one give me some comments, please? Shall I tell LCS that I have contacted with EDF? Thank you.

I would tell LCS that EDF confirm that you have never had and account with them, and that LCS can go forth and multiply.
Maybe also tell them that you are reporting them for attempted fraud, since they are trying to collect a debt that they must know you do not owe.Still rolling rolling rolling......<
