Tell them you haven't been paying and it's still SB.
Up to them to prove you have and until you receive it they can sod off.
They might send you a made up statement or something that has no real details on the source of the payment, which is useless.:beer:0 -

So should i send them a SB letter again and ask for proof of payment etc
I do have a token payment set up but not with cahoot and have never had any dealings with them until now
It also seems very strange how they are knocking off 300 pounds0 -

I don't think that advising people to lie for pecuniary advantage is a particularly good idea. We have laws against that sort of thing, and it's best not to tell people to break them over a small unsecured debt.0 -
Well i sent the sb letter and today i got a very strange reply which goes
Dear sir
you are currently paying your account with us on a monthly basis and we thank you for that
We have had a look at the account and we can see you will still be paying the account in 15 years
We would like to help you and will accept 645 pounds instead of 922 pounds ideally to be paid in the next few weeks
Dear Cabot,
I have made no payments to your company. (Not a lie as you haven't)
+ usual statute barred letter following that.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

Confused, have you been paying someone else for this account or no one?:beer:0 -

Lie how? I was under the impression the OP had made no payments on this, contrary to the suggestion by the DCA.:beer:0 -
I made token payments of 1 pound a month and these have been coming out of my account to the same company for over 10 years

I set up a token payment of 1 pound a month over 10 years ago and this still comes out of my account now but i have never made any payment to cabot financial or had any contact with them prior to this letter0 -
Today i have received there reply
Please find enclosed a transaction list which shows all payments to this account
payments are paid to barclaycard and then forwarded to us hence why the account is non statue barred
we would advise that these payments constitute a clear acknowledgement of the outstanding debt
We would also advise that we are not able to obtain a copy of the original credit agreement due to the age of this account
please contact us in 21 days0 -
Also the Transaction list they have provided only dates back to December 2011 and is on plain paper0
