Wedding food - what to do and when?

What are people doing about food for their wedding?
What I mean by this is we're getting married around 4pm, and only a small group of people will be there for that so there'll be about 12 adults and 9 kids (inc us).
How much should be feed the wedding party, and how much should we feed the evening guests?
As the ceremony is at 4pm, is it better/ acceptable to do a small buffet for the wedding guests and then have our main food (a BBQ) in the evening for the other guests, or a smaller BBQ for main party and then a buffet for the evening guests?
I haven't been to too many other weddings to know what the norm is, and wondered what others thought/ were doing?

Tbh it doesnt really matter as your timings mean those who go the the main reception will be too full to eat later in the day too.
Personally i would go with whatever one is the most expensive per head for your sit down meal and the cheaper option for the evening0
