self employed cleaner

I may have the chance of becoming a self employed cleaner. What do I need to do this, insurance etc?
My friend currently cleans for 3 people but is finding it too much so is looking at stopping. She also has a cleaning job in a school, no kids.
Would work out about 7 hours a week currently. I get carers allowance, dla (for child) and child tax credits (have too much savings for income support) also kids get free school meals. How would it affect this?
