This rang a few bells with me. As many of you on here know i have been on a long journey the last 6 years. OH and I split up in March 2008 due to his drinking. Luckily he is sober now. We were left with a load of debts which are gradually been cleared ( although some of the credit card debts should fall away shortly due to the 6 year rule).
Now OH and I are good friends ( as was displayed last week at DS's wedding) and he is helping his DD with her depression as he suffers from it too.
He likes to spend his money on books and things but it is not my problem anymore and although he spent most of our money on booze I refuse to let it make me bitter. Whenever there is a glitch he is my chauffeur and as we are both skint at the mo with the wedding expenses he is eating out of the freezer to save money. ( I am stil on CD to lose the last 12lbs). DD went away today to Devon with a load of others to a 30th birthday weekend and was pleased to take Free coffee drinks, cheap coke and diet coke, cheap Carlsberg almost free Pizza and free crisps.
Thanks to this thread and site I no longer worry about my bills as i know I will have the money to pay them.
OH and I are looking forward and I help him as he helps me. We were married 32 years last week and although we dont live together I feel we are as close as most married couples.
Going to spend tommorow clearing out spare room to finally put stash in some kind or order.
Love you all. My brothers and sisters and Mum dont treat me well so I am glad i have all of you.
I think your ability not to allow the past to make you bitter is what seems to be a common trait on here..........:AYNWA JFT96 :A0 -
