A lesson in wombles

Wombles are surprisingly strong even when soaking wet as long as they're handled carefully as they're what's known as thermal paper.

Rarely does the carbon 'ink' run no matter how wet, but it can fade if left very wet for a long long time

Never dry a womble with an iron as the womble will bring the chemicals out and it will turn black. Best pace to dry them is the footwell of the car with heater on full blast or leave to air dry naturally. You can dry on a radiator, but don't leave them too long as again the chemicals are likely to come out.

Never put sellotape on a womble as the 'ink' will completely disappear over time leaving a very blank sheet of paper.

Now the bad news. In studies in the US wombles have been linked to cancer due to the chemicals contained within...Yes, it's true.....but you'd probablt need to permanantly be handling the paper for it to affect you..............More chance of winning the Lotto I think !

And don't hold it in front of a fire to 'dry' as it'll burn and turn black!!:eek::eek: Hairdrier though, perhaps a little gentler?:) Or just let it dry naturally - does so at normal room temperature!:D
