No offence, but it sounds to me, that your sister is being spoilt rotten, financially.
I don't think your parents are doing her any favours, giving her a free ride, because, one day, she's going to have to cope, by herself, and that is going to come as one hell of a shock to her.0 -
It's great that you are trying to help her but she needs to learn to take some responsibility for her own actions.
Persuading her to sign up on here would do her far more good than you doing it for her but I understand why you are doing it and hope she appreciates it.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
No offence taken Bob, I have to admit I totally agree with everything you've said. I had to speak my mum out of phoning the bank and paying it all off for her, because she's never going to be financially independant if she doesn't try and sort out her own money.
I will try and get her to sign up, I myself find this site really motivating and helpful, so will try and persuade her it will be helpful.

Cancelling her card will NOT work. You only need to read on here the number of threads where someone 'loses' their card after taking out a payday loan, cancels it and is then surprised the bank still pays the creditor.
Hi,
I hate to beg to differ, but this DOES work, the new card details are unknown to anyone else, the CPA does not transfer from one card to another, it is only relevant to the original card, they can set up a direct debt to take money from your account, and that's what people mean when they say " the bank still pays the creditor" but unless you have specifically given your new card details to the creditor there is no way they can find them out, the bank will not tell them, I know as I have done it in the past.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
