Claiming expenses

O/h is an agency worker and used to be p.a.y.e.
The agency transferred him to an umberella company without him knowing. He has had the usual deductions taken by the umberella company including their fee but because he was unaware of the change he has never submitted any expense claims.
This has been going on for months and he has lost a lot of money.
We have now been told that the original umberella company no longer exists and that he will not be able to submit the claims to them. Is there a way of claiming what he is owed without becoming self employed or a contractor?
Thank you in advance.

I suggest he pursues the Agency. His contract was always with the Agency until and unless he agreed to any other contract. As he was never informed, the argument that he accepted the transfer of contract to the Umbrella company by continuing to work for them AFAICSYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0

Thank you. The agency refers us back to the umberella company. I have repeatedly asked the agency for a copy of the contract that o/h signed with the agency when he started because they never gave him a copy then. I am still waiting. Eventually (3 months after the change) o/h did receive a contract form the umberella company but because there was no discussion or information re the change he has not signed it. When they finally explained to o/h what it was all about the original umberella company had a name change and they said it was too late to claim.
O/h will take it up with the agency again but I don't expect any joy.0
