Hi to all you lovely people, just after some advice. Have been on dmp with step change for last 14 months everything going well, all creditors have frozen interest, so finally feel am making some headway with our debt
However this month my car has developed some issues with oil and coolant leak and don't have much of an emergency fund
so am wondering how stepchange will react if I am unable to pay this month, and the creditors, am really worried this will rock the boat?
Hope someone can advise thank you

Hi,
I've had to do this a couple of times. Do you pay by DD or SO? If you pay be SO then pay £1 as a token payment to each creditor and telephone / write to them explaining the problem. Unless there is a CCJ which should get the full amount.
If you pay by DD then you'd have to cancel the DD and pay by card or SO. I much prefer SO as you have more control.
I really can't see a problem because emergencies do happen.
PM me if you need a little advice on this0 -
Thank you for you reply, will speak to stepchange, just worried as I have delayed a payment once, but never missed one.

First off speak to SC - this does happen and as a dmp is an informal arrangement it may cause a few letters but should be OK in the long run as long as it doesn't happen every month.
