    Hi all,

Just wondered if you could advise where you purchase your cotton wool pads and also cotton buds? At present I get them from Boots, the offers and prices often vary and I want to become more money savvy, and I know there must be somewhere else cheaper?

Just wondered where you all tend to get yours

    Thanks

It depends if you're interested in quality as well as cost. I've found some of the cheaper pads are really fluffy and disintegrate very easily.

We're using Sainsbury's Basics at 50p for 80. DH uses them to bathe his eyes plus I use them for make-up/nail varnish remover etc.

I find Boots to be quite expensive for cotton wool pads and q-tips. Superdrug are cheaper, especially if you buy them from the baby section rather than the womens bit.
  • Cotton buds are 35p for a big box in Lidl
  • I buy virtually nothing in Boots as it all seems more expensive than elsewhere! Try superdrug, poundshops (which often have 'brands' if you're so inclined), supermarkets etc.

Agreed, although their loyalty card is excellent it's false economy if the goods are more expensive to start with.

I've bought a couple of expensive appliances (Smeg fridge/freezer) and built up points and I sometimes get expensive make up (Benefit, Clarins) there as the prices are the same almost everywhere. Then I use the points at the airport to buy 'free' water.

Wilkinsons do there own brand for a good low price range for cotton wool, pads & wipes
  • Asda has a pack of 100 for a £1. If you buy 4 packs you get them for £3. I do not shop there regularly so I don't know if the buy 4 packs is a temporary offer but the £1 for one pack seems like a fixed offer. I usually buy Boots but they are expensive. I have bought a pack of the Asda ones but have not tried them yet. They are meant to be non-fleecing. Hope that is the case as I will get them regularly if they are half way decent.
