Tomtom XXL - I've deleted my maps!

Hi, I wonder if anybody has an idea how to solve my problem. I accidentally deleted my maps (UK) on my Tomtom XXL.

I have previously set up online updates, and therefore Tomtom themselves have my details logged, and have previously updated my satnav automatically when plugged into the pc without problems.

However, I have followed all the advice in the Tomtom help forums but I just cannot get the maps back, although it did automatically reinstall voices etc.

Is there any way to get the basic map back?

Will Tomtom support help if I email them?

I've used TomTom support in the past and they were very good - certainly worth a try.

It's possible that Recuva would work with a TomTom connected to your PC but as you've been restoring other stuff since deleting the map the chances are it's too late for that anyway.

Thanks for all the replies. Kwikbreaks, that's a bloody brilliant idea! I'm going to at least try that first, thank you. I didn't think of that and I use Recuva a lot!

Are there any backups on your computer, if you use tomtom home to update I think it gives you the option to backup.
