sending money within the uk

What's the best way for someone to send money within the UK. Bit of an emergency with a friend. Can't send it to his bank account (long story) so he would need to be able to get cash at the other end. Western Union?

Thanks

i don't think you can instantly send money to anyone and them being able to have instant access unless you actually go and meet them and hand them cash.

If person has a credit card you could pay cash into that. If person needs the cash to pay a bill? you could pay it for him on line.

Transfer it to a bank account of a friend or relative of the person in need, that lives close by. It's free if you send it via BACS and if it's between branches of the same bank often only takes one working day.

If you deposit cash to the other person's account at a branch of their bank it's often immediately available.
