Hoover - Mega Discounts Direct

Hi

I am just wondering whether anyone has had any experience with Mega Discounts Direct?

I am in need of an hoover and have found the hoover at half the retail price via Mega Discounts Direct. They state minor cosmetic damage which I would expect

Thanks in advance

Sorry about the late reply. I've only just seen your post.

On their website in the section headed 'Returns & Replacements' they say 'All items must be returned unused, unopened and in pristine condition. By this we mean that all packaging and all cellophone wrapping, labels and tamper resistant seals must be intact.' That statement doesn't comply with the Distance Selling Regulations because you must be given the opportunity to examine your goods. You'd have the law completely on your side if you challenged them on this but they'd probably argue the toss over it.

All the Hoovers I could find were refurbs with a 6 month warranty.

I can't see a contact address anywhere on the site.

    I wouldn't use them.
  • Hi there just stumbled across this thread mentioning this company. Having dealt with this company I thought I should comment. My kettle was on the blink so I was in search of new one. My sister bought a lovely morphy richards red kettle from comet for £60, so I googled it & found one on mega discounts direct for £30 was in two minds as it was so cheap but risked it. It's been more than one & half years since my purchase..still boiling my water. Since then my family & friends have started using them. Last week my husband ordered a Ryobi petrol chainsaw nearly half the price of amazon. They have a massive selection on there eBay store which also have amazing bargains. The amount of money saved they got our custom for life. Try them yourselves & experience the big savings like I did a year ago. Sorry for the essay...couldn't help it :rotfl:

It's a pity then that their feedback on Ebay is nothing to write home about - 30 negatives in the last month alone.
  • I have bought from that store online and the item I purchased worked fine for 6 weeks then failed. I contacted Mega they sent a courier to pick the faulty item up. They sent an email to say they had received it back and that was the last time I spoke with them they do not return mails. I expect my £50 steamer is probley been resold. KEEP AWAY

Looking at the site this morning, they have 137 negatives and 10,837 positives in the last 12 months - not bad at all, especially when you look more closely at some of the negatives/the seller's replies to these.
  • I was looking for a hoover globe gl1106 vacume cleaner couldn't get one cheaper than 199 pound, the cheapest was argos far too expensive .I done some research on the web and come across megadiscountsdirect.co.uk who had a huge sale for only 44.99 stated factory refurbished but the item was good as new ..im very impressed with this company i found online ..will be buying from them again.
