  • It should be more
I do a longer day on Wednesday so I claim £5 for meals four days a week and £10 for Wednesdays, which gives me the £30. fuel wise I can claim 40p a mile for 7.4 miles a day which is £14.80 and I'm not messing about sending receipts and filling in a mileage claim for each week just for a the tax break on £15.

Would have thought you'd claim £10 a day with those hours, dont forget travelling time is included. As you are only a short distance it is not unheard of to be there some 15-20 minutes before your start which could make up another hour.
  • I've been picked at random twice to be audited to make sure I'm buying meals, in about six months. So don't fancy risking claiming the extra Although when winter hits us, if it snows I'll be claiming for breakfast and the full ten hours; there's nothing worse than trying to get off my estate and through Preston City Centre in the snow.
