Hello ladies ... I read this board often but not normally a poster.

I recently discovered Knorr Fish Stock Pots and think they are amazing at vavavuming up basically any dish ... not limited to fish at all.

I use them in risottos (all types), soups, stews etc and today have just made a Bolognese sauce which tastes amazing ... the only difference being that I popped one of these in it.

They are processed, of course but don't have any nasties in. Currently on offer in Sainsburys and Tesco 2 x 4 packs for £2 so 25p each.

I batch cook and have made about 12 portions of bog sauce with just 1 and it has made a difference. Of course using home made sauce, adding lentils etc.

I would never ever have thought to use a fish stock cube in anything other than a fish or seafood dish previously.

Anyway I just thought I would share that with you as I get so many fab tips from this board x

Oh and just to add, my previous stock of choice was Swiss Bouillion Organic, no added salt powder which I still love but this just has an extra dimension of vavavumness.

Plus a lot of my dishes had the same undertaste to them with the powder (soups, casseroles etc), so nice to mix things up a bit!!!

I use the vegetable ones. Knorr have always been pretty good, comparable to Star [italian stock cubes]

The fish ones are 36p in my local Asda, the others are £1, all 4 packs.
  • Fish sauce (more fish oil than sauce) that I buy from the Chinese ingredients shop adds a really nice flavour to things as well.
