...send money abroad but the recipient does not use the internet. Can anyone advise on a safe alternative method?

If you know the person and being ripped off by them isn't an issue have a look at western union money transfers0

If you are sending more than a few quid overseas, try First Rate FX (https://www.firstratefx.com) as they offer a fabulous service with no fees. I'd never use a High St bank for foreign currency ever again when I realised just what a dreadful exchange rate you get - and then they have the nerve to charge you a commission as well :mad:0

thank you I will have a look at the two above mentioned methods, I know the recipient so as long as the money arrives there it should be "risk free".
